Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Technician role performing mechanical repairs on a variety of heavy equipment, including hydraulic and electrical diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and timely repairs. Responsibilities include coordinating with the Service Writer and Parts team, maintaining safe work areas, traveling between branches and customer sites, and communicating job progress to Lead Hand or Service Manager. Requires 3+ years’ experience as a Heavy Truck/Diesel/Hydraulic technician, with Manitoba certification recognized and a valid driver’s license; Red Seal preferred. Work environment includes field-based site visits and shop/workyard tasks with exposure to noise, dust, and demanding physical conditions. Required Qualifications
- Licensed Journeyperson Truck and Transport Mechanic (Red Seal preferred) or Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician; certification recognized in Manitoba
- Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract
- Commercial License considered an asset
- 3+ years’ experience working as a Heavy Truck, Equipment or Diesel Technician
- Experience with hydraulic and/or electrical work
- Chassis experience considered an asset
- Experience setting up and operating complex machinery
- Experience using MS Office Suite
