Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Technician performs repairs and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment and related vehicles, including electrical, diesel and gasoline systems, hydraulic, suspension, and emission components. Responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing mechanical problems, reading repair orders and equipment condition reports, communicating with supervisors/operators for defects, recording parts usage and times, maintaining daily consumables and inputting data into fleet-management software, and adhering to safety policies. Qualifications include ASE certifications and a Mechanical Trade School certificate or electrical diagnostics certification. The role involves servicing engines, transmissions, chassis, drivelines, hydraulics, brakes, electrical and suspension systems, and requires knowledge of OSHA HazCom, Lock Out Tag Out, and related regulations. Pay ranges from $23.55 to $32.40 per hour, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for advancement.
Required Qualifications
- ASE Certification
- Mechanical Trade School certificate or degree
- Certificate in electrical diagnostics
- Applicable ASE certifications
- Working knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems
- Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience
- OSHA Haz Com; OSHA Lock Out Tag Out and all OSHA Fire Protection regulations
