Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Technician must diagnose, repair, overhaul, and service Caterpillar diesel-powered construction equipment in shop or field environments. Responsibilities include diagnosing with Cat ET, performing preventative maintenance, part installations, and rebuilds across hydraulic, electrical, transmission, fuel, and undercarriage systems; operate with a company service truck; collaborate with mentors and team members. Strong preference for welding/fabrication (MIG/arc/oxyacetylene), hydraulic pumps/valves/motors experience, and earthmoving equipment service training. Must own proper tools and have a high school diploma or equivalent; prior Caterpillar or similar-brand experience and ability to work independently in shop or field.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience using diagnostic systems such as Cat ET
- Deep understanding of hydraulics, transmissions, fuel systems, and undercarriage components
- Prior military or heavy construction mechanic experience (Caterpillar or similar brands)
