Job Summary
Conduct hands-on maintenance and repairs on civil construction equipment such as dozers, articulated trucks, and excavators. Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults while replacing components and completing preventive maintenance according to manufacturer specifications. Interpret work orders and technical manuals to adjust equipment and repair defective parts, then test repaired units for proper performance and regulatory compliance. Keep equipment cleaned and lubricated, complete service reports, and work closely with customer maintenance and operations personnel. Operate out of a service truck in active construction environments, requiring a valid Class 5 Driver's License and willingness to travel to multiple job sites.
Required Qualifications
- Provincial Journeyperson or Red Seal Certification in Heavy Equipment Technician trade
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment in a field or a yard
- Experience working independently out of a service truck in active construction environments
- Ability and willingness to travel to multiple job sites and work primarily in the field
- Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of safe work practices and job site protocols
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Reliable transportation to get to work
- 5 days on and 2 days off schedule
- Local Only location
- Ability to understand hydraulic and electronic schematics
