Job Summary
Perform hands-on maintenance and repairs on civil construction and automotive fleet equipment, including dozers, articulated trucks, and excavators. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic faults while replacing defective components and systems. Execute preventive maintenance, keep equipment cleaned and lubricated, and adjust machinery to meet manufacturer specifications and legislated regulations. Interpret work orders and technical manuals, test repaired equipment for proper performance, and complete service reports. Collaborate closely with customer maintenance and operations personnel to ensure all work adheres to technical manuals and safety protocols.
Required Qualifications
- Provincial Journeyperson or Red Seal Certification in Heavy Equipment Technician trade
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience servicing and repairing heavy equipment in a field or a yard
- Strong commitment to safety, with knowledge of safe work practices and job site protocols
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Reliable transportation to get to work
Desired Qualifications
- Strong interest in automotive equipment maintenance is highly valued, as the majority of workflow consists of supporting automotive fleet
- Field experience is considered an asset
