Heavy Equipment Technician - Journeyman (Off-Road)

Job Summary
Repair or replace defective parts on Wiggle wagon trucks, install new components per manufacturer specifications, and test equipment for proper performance. Complete repair documentation including work orders, field-level risk assessments, and hazard identification while adhering to daily housekeeping standards and safety regulations. Follow instructions assigned by the shop supervisor and maintain a clean work environment. This role requires a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician with at least three years of off-road experience, a valid Class 5 driver's license, and OSSA/CSTS certification. The position offers competitive hourly rates, 11.5-hour days, and a 14-on/14-off shift schedule at the Fort McKay Incubator Park.
Required Qualifications
- Must be certified as a Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician
- min 3 years Off-road experience
- Possess a valid driver's license (min class 5) with a clean abstract
- Be knowledgeable in all aspects of heavy truck repair including, but not limited to hydraulic, electronic, suspension, and computer diagnosis
- Previous or related experience with off-road equipment, specifically wiggle wagons
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- OSSA (or OSSA BSO) and CSTS certification
- Must successfully pass BME pre-employment evaluation, D&A, and fit for duty pre-employment screening
Desired Qualifications
- preference given to those who possess experience with water, vac, high pressure, and flusher units
- Previous experience with water, vac, and steam equipment would be considered an asset
- preference will be given to local candidates
