Job Summary
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and emission systems on heavy equipment, compactors, excavators, and wheel loaders. Perform preventative maintenance inspections, engine overhauls, and repairs on chassis, drivelines, and suspension components. Interpret equipment condition reports, communicate with operators regarding defects, and complete daily consumables reports for fuel, oil, and hours usage in the fleet management system. Maintain safety compliance and document all parts usage and applied times. Requires ASE certification, one year of heavy equipment technician experience, and knowledge of OSHA regulations.

- Advanced knowledge in air brakes
- Advanced knowledge in tires
- Advanced knowledge in hydraulics
- Advanced knowledge in advanced electrical
- Advanced knowledge in advanced drive train
- Advanced knowledge in suspension
- Advanced knowledge in steering
- Advanced knowledge in wheel-end components
- Training as evidenced by ASE Certification
- At least 1 year of experience as a technician working on heavy equipment
- Minimum of 1 year of prior experience as a technician working on heavy equipment
- Demonstrating the ability to service increasingly more challenging maintenance repairs
- Mechanical Trade School certificate or degree
- Certificate in electrical diagnostics
- Applicable ASE certifications
- Working knowledge of Tier 4 emission systems
- Welding and/or fabrication skills and/or experience
- Knowledge and application of OSHA Haz Com
- Knowledge and application of OSHA Lock Out Tag Out
- Knowledge and application of all OSHA Fire Protection regulations
