Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) at EquipmentShare in Brownsville, TX. Responsible for maintenance and repair of a variety of rental and customer heavy equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. Diagnoses issues, creates and tracks work orders, orders parts, and uses laptops/tablets to pull data for root-cause analysis. Provides training to lower-level technicians, maintains electronic documentation, assists with equipment deliveries, and adheres to OSHA requirements. Requires strong mechanical aptitude, tool ownership, customer service, teamwork, and ability to work with safety protocols; includes on-call shift and overtime potential. Year-round OEM training and opportunities for career advancement are provided.
Required Qualifications
- Must own tools
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
