Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Shop Technician (Mechanic) at EquipmentShare—responsible for maintenance and repair of a variety of rental and customer heavy equipment, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. Use laptops/tablets to manage work orders, track service intervals, order parts, diagnose issues, and document work. Train lower-level technicians as needed, assist with parts pickup/delivery, and ensure OSHA compliance. Requires ownership of required tools, strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of construction equipment, and excellent communication and teamwork. Role based at Ocala, FL, with standard Monday–Friday schedule and overtime eligibility; on-call with additional compensation. OSHA familiarity and OEM training offered year-round.
Required Qualifications
- Must own tools applicable to position
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Education and Experience: High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
- Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times

- Employment is contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen
- OSHA knowledge preferred
- On-call scheduling with additional compensation
