Job Summary
Operate a variety of light to heavy equipment at Public Works job sites (e.g., Gradall, excavator, bulldozer, dump trucks, concrete mixers, backhoes, forklifts, loaders, skid steer, concrete breaker) with duties including routine maintenance, inventory monitoring, and supporting infrastructure maintenance (water/sewer lines, hydrants, landscape/asphalt repairs). May supervise as needed in Crew Leader's absence. In wastewater roles, operate jet/vacuum/CCTV trucks. Prepare logs/reports, set up and barricade work zones, and participate in winter weather operations and on-call responses. Requires safety-conscious skilled maintenance, ability to read maps/schematics, and strong English communication. Certifications may include Class A CDL and TCEQ licenses; other licenses may be required depending on area of assignment.
Required Qualifications
- Eighth grade education
- One year of related equipment operations experience
- Must possess a valid motor vehicle driver license
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
- Must pass criminal history check
- Must pass motor vehicle records check
- Must obtain Class A-CDL Texas Driver's License within 6 months of employment
- Depending on area of assignment, other certifications may be required as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications

- TCEQ issued occupational license
- TCEQ Class C Water Distribution license (may be required)
- TCEQ Class II Wastewater Collections license (may be required)
