Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment to safely load, unload, and move materials and supplies, while supporting the setup and demobilization of logistics operations at deployment sites. Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance on assigned equipment, assist with general material handling, and follow all safety regulations to maintain a secure work environment. Work collaboratively with logistics and field operations teams to meet response objectives, perform other job-related duties as assigned, and manage travel on short notice for seasonal disaster response missions in Florida.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid certification(s) for operating heavy equipment (e.g., telehandlers, forklifts)
- Flexibility to work irregular hours—such as nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods
- Must be physically capable of lifting heavy materials and working outdoors in diverse environmental conditions
- Valid driver's license
- Access to reliable transportation
- Available to deploy within 24 to 72 hours of notification
- Travel on short notice, generally lasting from several days to a few weeks and possibly 30 days or more
Desired Qualifications
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in logistics, construction, or emergency response settings
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., loaders, excavators, cherry pickers, bulldozers)
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
