Job Summary
Operate a range of heavy equipment at a quarry/site including water trucks, graders, front-end loaders, and excavators to support daily production and site preparation. Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance (oil, water, tire pressure) and report repairs. Use graders to level surfaces, assist with landscaping/ground maintenance, and ensure site readiness. Maintain a strong safety culture by following PPE, OSHA/MSHA regulations, and plant procedures (lockout/tagout, confined space). Conduct housekeeping and safety inspections, load/transport materials as needed, and communicate with internal teams and vendors to keep operations efficient and safe. Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding outdoor environment; willing to train on OSHA/MSHA regulations and plant-specific safety procedures; weekend and overtime availability; background check and pre-employment drug screening/physical exam may be required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 1 year experience operating heavy equipment (construction or industrial environment preferred)
- Experience operating a Front End Loader
- Ability to safely operate graders, excavators, loaders, and water trucks
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspections and preventive maintenance procedures
- Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a physically demanding outdoor environment
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and environmental guidelines
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, following directions and adapting to changing priorities
- Willingness to be trained on OSHA/MSHA regulations and plant-specific safety procedures
