Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Operator responsible for safely operating a range of heavy equipment (e.g., bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders, dump trucks) to perform MSW/recycling site tasks, conduct pre-trip/post-trip inspections, perform routine maintenance, and support on-site operations including waste handling, yard moves, and hazardous waste training as required. Must communicate professionally with customers and colleagues, pass written and operational tests to certify operation of each equipment piece, and be able to work flexible hours including nights/weekends. Specific duties include equipment operation, site preparation, equipment inspection/maintenance, interaction with internal/external customers, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. Specific to Boyd County, hazardous waste training within six months of employment and annual review are required.
