Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Operator responsible for safe operation of multiple heavy machines (e.g., bulldozers, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders) to support MSW and recycling sites. Includes pre-trip/post-trip inspections, routine maintenance, on-site material handling (including roll-off operations and yard tractor movements), and interaction with customers. Requires proven proficiency on heavy equipment, completion of required training (including hazardous waste training within six months), and a minimum of three years of related experience; candidates must pass written and operational certifications for each piece of equipment and be legally eligible to work in the United States. Shift is 6:00am–8:00pm, Monday–Friday, with possible overtime, nights, and weekends; physical and environmental conditions include outdoor work, variable temperatures, and exposure to waste materials.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years experience operating heavy equipment such as an excavator, backhoe, dozer, and off-road truck or similar experience preferred
- Must pass a written and operational test to be certified to operate each piece of heavy equipment
- Must successfully complete hazardous waste training, as provided in the Personnel Training Plan for Hazardous Waste Job Duties, within six months of employment or assignment to such job duties

- Must be able to read and speak the English language
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
