Job Summary
Position Summary: The Operator – Heavy Equipment is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a recycling facility, landfill or transfer station for transferring, spreading, covering, loading and/or compacting waste or soil. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES include pre- and post-operation inspections, operating equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader, monitoring waste and equipment condition, completing Equipment Condition Reports, performing minor servicing, following safety policies, maintaining a clean and serviced shop, and performing other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS emphasize good customer service, professionalism, time management, follow-through, and adherence to company policies and safety standards.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation
- One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA
