Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Operator position in Williston, ND. Operates civil construction heavy equipment (dozer, scraper, excavator, backhoe, trenchers, etc.) using GPS-enabled tools, adhering to safety practices and company policies. Works as part of a team to complete projects, interprets plans/grade information, reads GPS data, conducts daily equipment maintenance, communicates progress to supervisors and co-workers, and interacts with customers and the public. Requires basic understanding of grade information and soils, ability to pass CAT operator training, and a valid US driver's license; overtime and safety expectations are noted.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment
- Working knowledge of operating various earthmoving equipment
- Understanding of safety and operating methods for construction heavy equipment
- Basic understanding of grade information from plans or grade stakes
- Basic understanding of soils as needed to complete tasks safely
- Ability to pass CAT Heavy Equipment Operator training via computer-based training
- Previous oil and gas construction service experience preferred but not required
- Valid US driver's license with good driving record
- Ability to pass background and drug/alcohol tests
