Job Summary
Operate light and heavy equipment to off-load trucks, unload waste, stabilize materials, and process treatment in hazardous waste facilities. Conduct post-treatment sampling for laboratory testing, load cleared materials for shipment, and perform preventative maintenance and general housekeeping. Prioritize diverse responsibilities while maintaining accuracy and thoroughness. Requires 1+ years related experience, valid driver's license, and completion of 40-hour HAZWOPER training. This role supports Republic Services' mission to safely manage multiple waste streams and advance circularity across North America.
Required Qualifications
- 1 or more years related experience
- Ability to pass 40-hour HAZWOPER Training upon hire
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of light and heavy equipment operation
- Ability to use hand and power tools applicable
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance, including (but not limited to): check tire pressure, check oil and water levels
- Demonstrates, accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail
- Must be able to prioritize, stay focused and handle multiple, diverse responsibilities
- A valid driver's license may be required for some positions
