Job Summary
Operate CAT 400 excavators, D6 dozers, and GPS-controlled equipment to perform trenching, excavation, grading, and utility installation. Read blueprints and grade information while safely excavating around live utilities. Conduct daily equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns. Serve as a lead crew member to direct work activities and mentor less experienced operators. Maintain all company safety standards and OSHA requirements. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions with typical hours starting at 7:00 a.m.
Required Qualifications
- Extensive heavy equipment operating experience
- Experience in site development and underground utility construction
- Ability to read plans and grade information
- Strong knowledge of excavation safety practices
- Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
- GPS machine control experience
- OSHA certifications
- CDL Class A or B
- Leadership experience
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
