Job Summary
Operate specialized heavy equipment including excavators, skid steers, and bulldozers to cut trenches, grade earth, and lay underground storm or sanitation pipes. Coordinate with concrete and pipe crews using hand signals or radios while performing daily equipment checks and reporting defects to management. Load and unload cargo, move materials across project sites, and render repairs as needed. Maintain safety compliance and follow quality standards while working in varying weather conditions. Required Qualifications
- MUST have experience with operating an EXCAVATOR
- MUST have experience with SKID STEER
- MUST have experience with BULLDOZER
- MUST have experience with CUTTING GRADE
- MUST have pipe laying experience
- MUST have CONSTRUCTION background
- Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Good verbal and written communication
- Experience with cutting trenches/slopes
- Grading and excavation experience
- Ability to use good judgement and act independently
- Ability to lift up to 50 LBS
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods
- Handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis
- Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites
- Excellent physical strength & stamina
- Ability to work in varying hot and cold environments
- Ability to work in an environments with exposures to dust, dirt and various other debris, metal and paint fumes, gases
- Ability to work in an environments with exposures to high, precarious places and outside weather conditions
- Must be able to pass drug screen
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to provide own PPE (hard hat, steel toes, safety glasses, gloves)
- Will be required to travel up to a 60 mile radius
- Must be able to preform any combination of the following tasks: grade trenches or culverts / move and grade earth, position pipe, erect structures from the ground, move materials around the project
- Inspection of the machinery before and after to ensure that it is in good working condition
- Reporting more serious defects for repair by an authorized service provider
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines, helping to maintain a safe and orderly work environment
- Meet quality and performance requirements as outlined by quality assurance and production standards
- Report safety hazards, quality, and production issues to management immediately
- Tasks beyond those listed above will be asked of you, so a positive, can-do attitude is required
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of reading blueprints can be helpful
- 1 year minimum preferred
