Job Summary
Operate 777, 785, or 793 Articulated/Rigid Haul Trucks in a mining or heavy construction earthworks environment, completing pre-use equipment inspections and field-level risk/hazard assessments before tasks. Participate in safe fueling and servicing, interact with loading and dumping equipment, and ensure compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies. Follow mine driving rules, review safe work plans with supervisors, and report necessary repairs, incidents, or near misses immediately. Work 14 x 7 hour days (paid for 12 hours) on a 14 days on, 7 off rotation at the Fort Hills site with accommodations and transportation provided.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience working on 777, 785, 793 Haul Trucks/Articulated Haul Trucks
- Minimum one year experience in mining atmosphere
- Potential to run rigid frame trucks as required
- A safety-first attitude
- Attentive and possess strong listening skills
- High school diploma, GED, and/or post-secondary education
- Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
- Have a valid Class 5 Driver's License
- CSO Certification
- Silica Awareness
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness
- Hydroden Sulphide
- OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness
- Field Ergonomics
- Ability to provide a recent Driver's Abstract
- Valid CSO or BSO
- Be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
