Job Summary
Oversee daily field operations on active construction sites while operating heavy construction equipment (including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, skid steers, rollers, and dump trucks) and supervise/coordinate crew activities. Read and interpret blueprints and site plans; enforce OSHA safety policies; coordinate equipment usage, materials, and workflows; train and mentor crew on proper operation and safe practices; maintain accurate daily reports, production logs, and equipment records; communicate progress and site conditions with project managers and foremen to keep projects moving safely and efficiently.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Minimum of 3–5 years of heavy equipment operating experience
- Previous crew leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong understanding of excavation, grading, utility, site development, or road construction operations
- Ability to read blueprints and construction drawings
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and construction site procedures
- Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
