Job Summary
Operate dozers, excavators, rollers, and loaders to perform earthwork and utility operations including loading, offloading, and material placement. Conduct routine vehicle inspections for oil, water, and tires while ensuring proper PPE and adhering to safety codes. Consult construction plans, take measurements, and follow Foreman instructions for accurate site execution. Assist with snow removal across existing communities and construction sites. Work out of the South Plainfield, NJ office with almost constant exposure to extreme temperatures and dust. This role supports Edgewood Properties' rapid portfolio growth across the nation.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in operating dozers, excavators, rollers, articulated end dumps, scraper pans, and loaders
- In depth knowledge of site construction means & methods, equipment utilization, earthwork operations and /or Utility Operations (sanitary sewer, drainage and water installation)
- Thorough experience operating in close quarters
- Must have at least 3-5 years of experience operating various equipment
- Must have reliable transportation to and from job site locations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds
- Excellent vision or the use of prescribed lenses
- Exceptional manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- A sound understanding of pertinent safety guidelines
- Capacity to provide and follow direction
- Sharp decision-making skills, particularly when under pressure
Desired Qualifications
- License/Certification: • CDL A (not required, but Preferred)
