Heavy Equipment Operator - Dump Truck (Night Shift)

Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment including dump trucks, excavators, dozers, and loaders to move materials to and from designated areas while strictly adhering to OSHA, MSHA, and EPA safety regulations. Transport loose materials such as sand, soil, rock, gravel, coal, and ore using articulated or roll-off trucks, utilizing hand and foot controls to tilt bodies and maneuver vehicles on-road or off-highway. Participate in required training sessions and maintain meticulous attendance standards. This full-time night shift position (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) is based in West Point, VA, with no CDL required. Join Saiia Construction, a MasTec company with over 630 pieces of machinery, to support power generation, mining, and infrastructure projects.
Required Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience
- Knowledge of EPA, OSHA, MSHA and other related state and federal regulations
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to use email, smart phone, tablet, or computer to manage company information and documents
- Ability to draft routine reports and correspondence
- Must be able to maintain acceptable attendance standards per employee handbook
- Approach and complete work in a meticulous, thorough, and timely manner
- Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to hear equipment and facility signals, horns and alarms; radio, and phone communications
- Position may be subject to pre-employment screening, which may include background check and drug testing
