Job Summary
Join MD&B as a Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee in a quarry setting. Responsibilities include operating heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, excavators, or loaders; learning drill patterns and layouts; performing daily equipment maintenance; adhering to safety policies; assisting with field paperwork (drill reports, hole sheets, timecards); coordinating supplies; and participating in team meetings. Travel may be required and overtime may occur. Candidates should be safety-minded, able to work in varying weather, and capable of learning drilling and blasting processes under supervision; successful completion of Driller I training within the designated period is expected. The role supports advancement opportunities within a majority employee-owned company.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License with own transportation
- Experience as construction laborer
- Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation
- Mechanical aptitude around equipment, motors, hydraulics, electrical systems
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must successfully complete a background screening for ATF
