Job Summary
Driller Trainee-Construction role with Maine Drilling & Blasting. Responsible for learning drill patterns and terminology, performing daily maintenance on equipment, adhering to safety policies, communicating terrain and operational issues to the Blaster/Foreman, and completing drill reports and timecards. Requires safety-mindedness, ability to work in varying weather, potential out-of-town travel, and ability to participate in training to become a Driller I. Starting pay is $20.00-$22.00 per hour with travel allowance and potential pay increases as training targets are met; benefits include ESOP, 401(k), health/dental/vision/life/disability, and training opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License with own transportation
- Experience as construction laborer
- Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation
- Mechanical aptitude based on past experience around equipment, motors, hydraulic, electrical systems
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must successfully complete a background screening for ATF
- Ability to lift 50 – 100 lbs., 30 – 40% of the time
- Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions
- Stooping and bending 30-40% of the time
- Ability to perform essential functions of the position
- Starting Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour plus $150/week travel allowance
