Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Operator/Driller Trainee at MD&B (Construction). Responsibilities include operating and maintaining drilling equipment, learning drill patterns and terminology, coordinating supplies, completing field paperwork, and participating in safety meetings. Must be safety-conscious, capable of working in various weather, and able to travel as needed. Requires valid driver’s license, construction-laborer experience, ability to lift 50–100 lbs., and successful completion of pre-employment physical, drug screen, and ATF background check. Starting pay $20–$22/hour with travel allowance; full-time role with advancement opportunities and comprehensive benefits including ESOP and 401(k).
Required Qualifications
- Ability to perform job specific instruction provided by Superintendents, Blasting Supervisor or Drill Operators
- Safety-mindedness
- Ability to work in varying weather environments
- Out of town travel and overtime may be required
- Valid Driver's License with own transportation
- Experience as construction laborer
- Must hold a high level of common sense relative to equipment and machinery operation
- Mechanical aptitude based on past experience around equipment, motors, hydraulic, electrical systems
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen
- Must successfully complete a background screening for ATF
- Ability to lift 50 – 100 lbs., 30 – 40% of the time
- Work on uneven and loose surfaces in varying weather conditions
- Stooping and bending 30-40% of the time
- Physical agility
- Starting Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour plus $150/week travel allowance
