Job Summary
Operate various sizes and models of dozers to complete assigned work, reading stakes and placing grades as needed. Ensure compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies while reviewing safe work plans and hazard assessments before job commencement. Complete equipment and area walk-arounds, safety checks, and field-level risk assessments to ensure all machinery runs properly. Report any necessary repairs, incidents, near misses, or damage immediately to maintenance teams or supervisors. This role involves 14x14 rotations with 12-hour shifts in a remote mining environment at the Suncor site. Candidates must have previous experience operating D8-D10 sized dozers in mining conditions, including muskeg and soft ground.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience operating and bulk pushing D8-D10 sized Dozer in a mining environment (overburden)
- Previous experience operating with muskeg / soft ground required
- Must be able to follow instructions to ensure safe equipment operation
- A safety-first attitude
- Attentive and possess strong listening skills
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- Valid CSO or BSO Certification (Energy Safety Canada)
- Silica Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
- Field Ergonomics (Energy Safety Canada)
- Must be subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Must undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Breath Alcohol Test
- Must undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Urine Drug Test
- Must undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Fitness-to-Work Health Assessment
- Must undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Audiometric Testing
- Must undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Vision Screening
- Must undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Criminal Record Check
- Must be able to provide a recent acceptable Driver's Abstract
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum one year experience in a mining atmosphere preferred
- High school diploma, GED, and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset
- Must be proficient in English, both verbal and written

- Subject to random testing at specific sites
- Undergo and successfully pass pre-employment testing
