Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment including blade, dozer, loader, scraper, forklift, bobcat, roller, backhoe, excavator, and tractor to support the mechanical scope of solar field construction. Perform routine maintenance such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning while adhering to prescribed safety regulations. Read and interpret operating manuals, load charts, and safety rules; provide timely documentation of field decisions and production tracking. Lift 50+ pound equipment and maneuver it into proper placement. Work outdoors in extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, and cold, while following precise instructions and embodying the One Team Approach.
Required Qualifications
- GED or equivalent education
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Equipment certifications as required
- Current driver's license of proper class and necessary endorsements as required by law
- Ability to lift 50+ pound equipment, maneuvering them into their proper places
- Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Able to follow precise instruction and receive feedback
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instruction, procedure manuals, and load charts
- Ability to detect machine malfunction
- Knowledge of equipment listed above, their appropriate uses
- Follow prescribed safety regulations
- Perform routine maintenance to include lubricating, fueling and cleaning
- Understand and apply basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication)
- Candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions, as safety permits
- This position requires working outdoors in various, often extreme weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, cold, etc
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working on construction projects preferred
