Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, and bulldozers to excavate trenches for landfill gas pipelines, haul away trench cuttings, and lay pipe sections accurately. Backfill trenches with proper soil compaction, grade surfaces, and clear vegetation to prepare the worksite. Perform routine maintenance on machinery and adhere to all safety protocols and industry regulations. Conduct pre-operation safety checks and ensure tasks meet project specifications. Work 8-12 hour day shifts with overtime available, including travel for 3-6 weeks at a time. This role supports Continuum Environmental Services' mission to deliver customized landfill gas construction solutions across the United States.
Required Qualifications
- 19 years of age or older
- Valid driver's license in good standing
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in drilling or construction environments
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and industry regulations related to heavy equipment and drilling operations
- Willingness to travel 3-6 weeks at a time, with one week spent at home each month, and comfort with lodging in hotels
- Capability to walk long distances, work extended hours, and lift/carry over 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, lift, push, pull, bend and twist
- Ability to demonstrate proficiency in safely operating vehicles and equipment, including pickup trucks and smaller machinery
- Ability to work safely in extreme hot and cold weather conditions
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in Landfill or Construction industries
- Fluency in multiple languages
- Possession of specialized certifications or training
