Job Summary
Load and move materials like ash, dirt, and rock using heavy construction equipment such as backhoes, loaders, and excavators. Drive and maneuver equipment with blades to remove topsoil and level terrain according to engineered specifications. Coordinate machine actions with crew members via hand or audio signals while performing routine maintenance and adjusting controls for precise positioning. Learn and follow all safety regulations while operating in flexible schedules that include nights, weekends, and holidays. This role supports Charah Solutions' mission to manage ash byproducts for the power generation industry.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three years' experience operating heavy equipment in a construction or similar environment
- Valid driver's license
- Must be able to climb, maintain body equilibrium, reach, grasp, bend and walk/stand/sit for extended periods of time
- Must be able to hear and see naturally or with correction
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience operating in a production-focused environment
- Experience utilizing GPS grading systems (i.e. Trimble, Topcon)
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in ash management, structural fills and landfills
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- High school diploma or equivalent
