Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Operator for Cemetery duties: operate a range of heavy equipment (e.g., back hoe, front-end loader, mini-excavator, salt truck, asphalt roller, dump truck) and landscaping tools; prepare graves and assist funeral home personnel; perform road/curb/sidewalk repairs and drainage work; assist with snow removal and emergency repairs; on-call during snow emergencies; potential involvement in sale of graves; requires MA Class B CDL and Hoisting Engineer licenses (2A preferred, 2B/4G required or ability to obtain within 6 months); full-time role in Westwood, MA with union benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Massachusetts Class B CDL (Commercial Driver's License)
- Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer's license required (2A preferred, 2B and 4G required) or ability to obtain within six months
- High School graduate or equivalent
- 3 years of experience in Public Works construction and maintenance activities (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- Ability to perform heavy manual labor under varying weather conditions
- Must pass a background check and drug screen
- Comfortable working in cemetery operations with professionalism regarding sensitive funeral services
