Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment on bridge construction projects and travel between jobsites in Iowa and neighboring states. Work Monday to Friday with some weekends, typically 40-50 hours, with overnight stays possible at the company's expense. Inspect and maintain equipment, operate to OSHA standards, and perform demolition, site clearing, grading, and other duties. Read and interpret equipment manuals and safety data sheets; identify safety concerns and communicate them to management. Operate various attachments and control mechanisms (e.g., hydraulic hoses, wedge-pin hitches, cable-operated blades) to cut, backfill, level, and prepare sites. Ensure safe operation and adherence to company handbooks and instructions; perform minor repairs and routine equipment maintenance as needed.
