Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Operator needed for construction projects in Millsboro, DE. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining heavy construction equipment (bulldozers, excavators, backhoes, wheel loaders, skid steers, rollers) safely and efficiently; performing routine inspections; reporting maintenance needs; loading/unloading materials; excavating, grading, and backfilling per project plans; following safety procedures; and coordinating with team to ensure accurate, safe project completion. Must have a valid driver’s license and experience with underground shoring equipment, strong mechanical aptitude, and ability to read and interpret technical documents; physical ability to work on an active outdoor site and endure varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience operating heavy construction equipment (bull dozers, excavators, backhoes, wheel loaders, skid steers, rollers)
- Ability to load/unload materials
- Ability to read and interpret plans/technical documents
- Ability to work in outdoor construction site conditions
- Ability to perform routine inspections and report maintenance needs
- Ability to follow safety procedures
- Ability to lift/carry 25lbs regularly and 50lbs occasionally
- Ability to work long periods standing or seated
