Job Summary
Conduct pre-trip safety inspections and complete daily hazard assessments for all heavy equipment activities. Maintain equipment in good operating condition by reporting and logging maintenance requirements while communicating professionally with team members. Operate loaders, dozers, excavators, and graders as needed, following all site, company, and client safety protocols. Complete production reporting and documentation as required. Work 12-hour days on a three-week on/three-week off rotation with fly-in/fly-out travel to Hope Bay Mine in Nunavut. Pre-access requirements include medical clearances, A&D testing, and criminal record checks.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience operating (Loader, Dozer, Excavator, and Graders) in a road building, mining, and/or industrial setting
- Previous experience with rotational schedules and remote camp life
- Incorporates HS&E concepts into work activities and demonstrates concern for others health & safety (co-workers, clients, and sub trades)
- Capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment with good safety awareness
- Experience with radio communications and protocols
