Job Summary
Maintain, troubleshoot, inspect, and repair heavy equipment on an oil sands construction project (equipment including CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi, and JCB). Perform preventive maintenance, diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems, and complete work orders, maintenance reports, and inspection documentation. Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and daily hazard assessments, ensure compliance with safety standards and site procedures, participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives, and provide field service with safety-focused documentation and reporting. Camp accommodation provided; travel allowances available; full-time role on 14-on/7-off schedule with benefits through CLAC.
Required Qualifications
- Journeyperson certification from a recognized training authority
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on heavy civil / earthworks projects
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment in field environments
- Must successfully complete pre-access drug and alcohol testing
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
