Job Summary
Perform repair and maintenance of heavy equipment in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, air, and brake system issues, then execute necessary repairs, adjustments, or replacements. Service equipment per company schedules and daily inspection reports, including routine welding, fluid changes, and filter replacements. Conduct emergency repairs on breakdowns and ensure all safety devices function correctly. Maintain accurate repair orders and parts usage through a computerized system while performing housekeeping duties to meet OSHA standards. Work outside in changing temperatures and conditions, often lifting up to 100 lbs. Requires 1-2 years of applicable experience, a valid driver's license, and ability to work flexible hours, nights, weekends, and overtime.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess necessary tools to perform assigned tasks
- Familiarity with using a computer
- Excellent mechanical aptitude in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- Experience using repair manuals, wiring (electrical) diagrams, and schematics necessary to troubleshoot or repair equipment or component failure
- 1-2 years of applicable experience required
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
- Valid driver's license (if applicable)
- Must successfully complete pre-employment testing
- Must be able to read and speak the English language
- Must be able to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays
- Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 50 lbs
- Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 75 lbs
- Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a max of 100 lbs
- Frequently working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions
- Frequently working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter
- Frequently stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling
- Frequently climbing and/or balancing
- Frequently sitting/standing/walking
- Good written and verbal communication skills to be able to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers
- Must be able to work with minimal direction and may direct the work of others
