Job Summary
Perform repairs, routine maintenance, and inspections on mining and quarry equipment and fixed plant machinery. Troubleshoot and diagnose service issues affecting engines, brake systems, transmissions, hydraulic systems, and electrical components. Complete maintenance and work order repair records while inspecting machines for abnormalities. Weld and fabricate as needed, manage heavy equipment parts procurement and storage, and operate mobile equipment or company vehicles. Perform housekeeping duties and work area checks with limited supervision. Shifts run approximately 3PM to 11PM, Monday through Friday with some Saturdays. Wages start at $30.00/hr, including a shift differential, with overall compensation based on experience.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of three years of experience working on heavy equipment
- demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair a wide range of service issues that affect major components such as engines, brake systems, transmissions, torque converters, hydraulic systems, drive train components, heating/cooling and electrical systems
- Be able to weld and fabricate
- Heavy equipment parts familiarization including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and cost of heavy equipment parts
- Ability to operate mobile equipment
- Operate a company vehicle on public highways and job sites
- Capable of working with limited supervision and scheduling own work
- Ability to stoop, push, kneel, twist, and lift 70lbs
- Ability to climb and perform work on heights of 20 feet
- Able to work in all kinds of weather conditions
- Able to develop working relationships with other employees and vendors
- Weekend work/overtime may be required
