Job Summary
Analyze malfunctions and repair, rebuild, and maintain heavy power equipment including cranes, bulldozers, scrapers, and mining machinery. Operate and inspect machines to diagnose defects, dismantle and reassemble equipment using hand tools and gauges, and replace defective engines and subassemblies. Weld broken parts and structural members while supervising contractor employees during assembly and disassembly. Manage maintenance activities, develop procedures, allocate workloads, and monitor equipment status at local performance sites. Monitor customer relationships, keep maintenance logs, report daily activities, and ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards. Adhere to PTi quality, safety, and environmental standards while performing duties under established management and contract compliance plans.
Required Qualifications
- Two years' experience inspecting and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic components on a wide variety of heavy-duty military vehicles using computerized diagnostic equipment, and repairing, cleaning, replacing defective parts of components and systems
- Certificate, License, Registration, etc. from a Vocational Technical School for vehicle or equipment mechanic, or have graduated from any Vehicle, Equipment, or Power Generation Mechanic Advanced Individual Training (AIT) e.g., 91 Series Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) or other DOD equivalent training
- Valid driver's U.S. State issued Class A CDL
- US Citizen
- Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance applicable to the position and/or military Common Access Card (CAC) within 30 days if required
- Completion of contractual and company mandated trainings applicable to position
- Minimum high school diploma or GED
- Must be available during operating hours
- May be required to be available up to 24 hours per day, 7 days per week during key events and increased OPTEMPO
- Subject to mandatory drug testing as required
- May be required to handle equipment/supplies weighing up to 50 pounds individually and occasionally items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance
- Able to exert moderate physical effort in the loading, unloading, and arranging of equipment/supplies as applicable to position
- Ability to work inside and/or outside in dirty and dusty environments, and occasionally be exposed to hot, cold, damp, and drafty weather conditions while handling equipment/supplies
- Able to perform work on hard or uneven surfaces
- Ability to effectively read and write in English, comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively
