Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Job Summary
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy equipment used in recycling and industrial operations, including loaders, excavators, skid steers, forklifts, cranes, balers, conveyors, and mobile processing equipment. Tasks include changing fluids, filters, tracks, belts, and wear components; assisting with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical repairs; identifying equipment issues and communicating findings to senior technicians; operating equipment for testing and inspection; maintaining service records and work orders; assisting with field repairs and emergency breakdown response; and following lockout/tagout and company safety procedures. Requires strong attention to detail, ability to work outdoors in varying weather, and relevant training/experience in heavy equipment or diesel technology. Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Relevant Military experience
- Mathematical and mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of welding and torching is preferred
- 1-3 years of heavy equipment maintenance experience
- Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
- Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform manual labor
- Vocational or technical training in heavy equipment or diesel technology
