Heavy Equipment Mechanic Opportunity in Chesley, ON

Job Summary
Diagnose, repair, and perform general and preventative maintenance on customer equipment in the shop or at the customer site. Perform electronic and physical diagnostic tests, isolate system components, and operate equipment for testing and troubleshooting. Rebuild motors, PTO shafts, and front axles as needed, while effectively communicating issues and solutions to customers. Create accurate repair quotes and maintain shop environment and company vehicles. Weld and fabricate parts, and adjust equipment to specifications. Complete manufacturer training and certifications, and be available for on-call services. Full-time permanent role in Chesley, Mount Forest, Walton, or Owen Sound, ON.
Required Qualifications
- Valid G Driver's License
- Must complete manufacturer training and certifications as required
- Must be available for on call services as required
- Ability to lift in excess of 50lbs
- Ability to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electronic agricultural equipment
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of pertinent data
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure with simultaneous deadlines
Desired Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Farm Equipment Technician, Heavy Equipment Technician or vocational equivalent preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (written & verbal) skills
- Detail oriented and excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrates a professional demeanor, respect and commitment to service excellence
