Job Summary
Lead Heavy Equipment Mechanic responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance, repairs, and rebuilds of heavy power equipment in support of U.S. Army Reserve operations. Tasks include replacing engines/subassemblies (e.g., transmissions), testing equipment, welding as needed, and directing personnel engaged in cleaning, assembly, and disassembly of machinery. Requires CDL-A, strong mechanical aptitude, leadership skills, and the ability to ensure safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Work may be indoors or outdoors; duties encompass maintenance of mining and construction machinery, diagnostic testing, and adherence to EHS/safety programs. Must have high school graduation or equivalent and clear English communication; valid CDL-A and US work authorization are required.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Valid California Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Ability to operate and inspect machines or equipment to diagnose defects
- Experience in dismantling/reassembling equipment and testing for operating efficiency
- Leadership ability and experience leading maintenance teams in military or industrial environments
- US citizen or able to work in the US
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 pounds
- Knowledge of safety and PPE compliance
- Experience with heavy power equipment maintenance, repairs, and inspections
