Job Summary
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy construction equipment used in railroad and industrial operations. Travel to job sites to inspect, service, and repair equipment such as trucks, backhoes, and bulldozers. Diagnose faults using computerized diagnostic tools and perform major repairs and overhauls as needed. Emphasizes experience with diesel engines and hydraulics, and ability to work independently in the field across multiple sites while maintaining safety and accurate maintenance records. Overtime and travel may be required based on operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and heavy construction equipment
- Experience using computerized diagnostic tools
- Ability to lift and safely handle heavy tools and equipment
- Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
