Job Summary
Under limited supervision, repair and perform preventative maintenance on automotive, specialized vehicles, and construction equipment including heavy-duty trucks, excavators, and bulldozers. Service transmission, hydraulic, electrical, and brake systems while conducting machine shop operations, alignments, and welding as required. Manage fleet efficiency by tracking usage, coordinating schedules, monitoring costs, and overseeing fuel dispensing systems. Respond to emergency road repairs and off-hours situations within 30 minutes. Maintain accurate vehicle records in iWorQs and Microsoft Office applications. Requires ASE certification or documented plan to obtain it within 1–2 years, 3–10 years heavy equipment experience, and ability to lift 50–100 lbs daily. Full-time non-exempt role with on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be ASE certified OR have a documented plan to obtain ASE certification within 1–2 years of hire
- Possess a valid Driver's License or obtain one within six months of appointment and be eligible for the Tribes' insurance
- Must submit to pre-employment and random drug/alcohol testing
- Required to exert physical effort handling and lifting 50–100 lbs. daily
- Exposed to potential occupational risks such as burns, cuts, hazardous fluids, and working alone in isolated areas
- Exposure to weather (rain, lightning, floods, humidity, hot summer temperatures)
- Exposed to loud noise from equipment and traffic
- Exposed to insects (bees, mosquitoes, flies, spiders)
- Exposed to rodents (mice, rats)
- Exposed to stray dogs
- Exposed to dirt, dust, engine exhaust, fumes, poison ivy/sumac, and pollen
Desired Qualifications
- Heavy equipment/diesel mechanic experience: 3–10 years preferred
