Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Mechanic needed to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on diverse heavy mobile equipment for a federal customer, including field-level and technical-manual level maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of components such as power packs, transmissions, fuel and injection systems, and brake/linkage mechanisms. Responsibilities include conducting PMCS, logistics and supply support operations, equipment storage, diagnostics, minor body work, operator maintenance, and mentoring military personnel; must meet CDL (Class A), state license, CAC, and security requirements and be able to operate a variety of diesel/gasoline-powered equipment. Location is Fort Leonard Wood, MO, in-person work; candidate will support maintenance management principles and metrics per Army Reserve practices.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in Maintenance and Logistical Support Operations
- Must have a valid state motor vehicle operator’s license
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class A)
- Familiarity with the U.S. Army Reserve maintenance management principles and metrics
- Basic computer skills required
- This position requires a Personnel Security Investigation
- Must have the ability to obtain a US government Common Access Card (CAC)
- Provide vehicle maintenance instruction, guidance and mentorship for military personnel and assigned shop maintenance support equipment
- Provide technical assistance to unit personnel
- Operate motor vehicles to perform the duties of this position
