Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

Job Summary
Field Technician responsible for maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer-owned machinery; diagnose issues using OEM data, create and monitor work orders, order parts, and perform on-site and field service at customer sites. Assist in training lower level technicians, maintain electronic documentation of work performed, assist with pickup/delivery of equipment and parts, and ensure OSHA compliance. May travel to customer job sites; year-round OEM training provided; on-call with overtime. Must own tools, have strong mechanical aptitude, and a valid driver’s license; safety-sensitive role requiring background check and drug screen.
Required Qualifications
- Must own tools applicable to position
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Education and Experience: High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
