Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) responsible for maintenance and repair of diverse construction equipment and aerial lifts across rental and customer-owned fleets. Build and diagnose issues using advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems; manage work orders and documentation; travel to customer job sites for on-site repairs as needed; mentor lower-level technicians; ensure OSHA safety practices; operate company vehicle per policy; leverage OEM training and company tech tools (laptops/tablets) to track service intervals and parts. Requires strong mechanical aptitude, tool ownership, customer-facing skills, and a valid driver’s license; role includes potential on-call duties and overtime. This position emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, field service, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or trade school certificate preferred
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
- Ability to move, stand, stoop and bend
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Drug screen required (10-panel)
- Background check required
- Ability to work overtime and possible on-call schedule
- Safety-sensitive position implying OSHA standards compliance
