Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at EquipmentShare in Savannah, GA. Responsible for maintenance and repair of a variety of heavy equipment and aerial lifts, diagnosing issues using onboard data, ordering parts, documenting work orders, and traveling to customer job sites when needed. Will train lower level technicians, uphold OSHA requirements (preferred), use laptops/tablets to track service and ensure timely completion of tasks, and provide on-call support with overtime. Requires ownership of tools, advanced mechanical aptitude, knowledge of construction equipment and schematics, strong customer service and communication skills, valid driver’s license, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Role includes on-site work Monday–Friday with potential travel and field service duties, with comprehensive benefits and safety requirements; background check and drug screen required.
Required Qualifications
- Must own tools applicable to position
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
