Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at EquipmentShare in Aransas Pass, TX. Maintains and repairs a variety of heavy equipment machinery and aerial lifts, using real-time data to diagnose issues, manage work orders, and determine corrective actions. Responsibilities include performing maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems, ordering parts, assisting in training lower level technicians, maintaining electronic documentation, assisting with equipment and parts pickup/delivery, and complying with OSHA requirements. Field travel to customer sites as needed; year-round OEM training provided; on-call with additional compensation. Strong emphasis on safe job practices, use of laptops/tablets, and independent judgment. Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills are required; must own tools and have a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- Must own tools applicable to position
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Education: High School diploma or Trade school certificate (preferred)
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
- Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely; lift up to 50 pounds
- Field Technicians may be required to be clean shaven to enter worksites (customer requirement)
- This is a safety sensitive position and drug screen/background checks required
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
- On-call schedule with overtime potential
- Ability to travel to customer job sites as needed
- OEM training provided year-round
Additional Requirements
- Must pass a 10 panel drug screen
- Employment contingent on background check
- Some roles require drug tests depending on job responsibilities
