Job Summary
Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) at EquipmentShare—maintain and repair a variety of heavy equipment and aerial lifts at our Lakeland rental facility, with field travel to customer sites. Responsibilities include managing work orders, tracking service intervals, ordering parts, diagnosing issues, and applying root-cause analysis to enable timely fixes. Use laptops/tablets to document work and monitor equipment data; practice safe job practices; train lower-level technicians as needed; manage paperwork for service activities; assist with equipment and parts pick-up/delivery. Occasional field travel to customer sites; on-call scheduling with additional compensation; OSHA considerations preferred. Year-round OEM training provided; on-site and remote task coordination via EquipmentShare’s tech platforms; strong emphasis on customer service, teamwork, and problem solving.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; trade school certificate preferred
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record; must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to use laptops/tablets for service documentation and diagnostic tasks
- Willingness to travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance (Field Mechanic)
- Safety sensitive position; drug screen required
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements preferred
