Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic)

Job Summary
Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer-owned heavy equipment using proprietary diagnostic tools. Create, assign, and monitor work orders while tracking service intervals and ordering parts via laptops and tablets. Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation daily, assist in training lower-level technicians, and support equipment pick-up and delivery. Travel to customer job sites when required to perform maintenance, ensuring the service vehicle remains clean and professional. Practice safe job procedures and adhere to OSHA requirements. Work Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM with overtime pay after 40 hours, subject to on-call scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- Must own tools applicable to position
- Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
- Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
- Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
- Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
- Must be at least 21 years old to operate company vehicle
- Must be able to move, stand, stoop and bend freely
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
- Must be clean shaven in order to enter worksites for EquipmentShare customers who have this requirement
- Must pass a 10 panel drug screen
- Must pass a background check
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma, Trade school certificate preferred
- Experience in field service, maintenance and repair preferred
- Be knowledgeable of OSHA requirements
